Surrounded by Angels

Hi there this is my entry for the August Mood Board over at Scrap With Us Scrappin Group

Being my group on facebook this was my first turn making my own mood board. Loving the colours but to me the Angel looking over the children was what inspired me for my pocket pages. The colours I used are the colours I love the most.

I chose to stamp the beautiful Angel Face on one of the pocket pages. I am happy I got to use some of my favourite strip stamps, I call them that because I am not sure what else to call them. But they are my favourites for sure.

I have used some Co-ordinates paper which I embossed with 3 separate embossing folders, so the big shot got a go today. On one of the pocket pages I have used Gesso to paint the background, and then I used two different background stamps and two different colour inks which gives a great effect.

Loving feathers I got to stamp some on the top pocket page, I wanted the stamped wording to be all I had on this particular page as it is just beautiful wording. The wording starts with Everyone comes into your life for a REASON. This I like as I believe it to be true, I am so blessed to be surrounded by some loving family and friends.

The bottom left pocket page folds out to expose some hidden photos and a little journalling.

Well that’s it for me for now, thanks for dropping by, Sharon

4 Wheels

Hi I joined in the July To Die for Challenge over at http://berry71bleu.blogspot.com.au/ Having to use dies was simple, I had the perfect photo I had been waiting to put to good use on a journal page.

I used cog die strips around the border of my journal page. I also cut out a couple of cogs for the title tab. Using a sheet of Print Blocks paper with checker plate pattern, I used some gesso to cover a fair bit of the page.

Then I used my favourite mesh stamp and using Stampin Up Concord Crush I stamped the mesh all over the page. As I am a fan of using foil tape out it came, and using my checker plate embossing folder I ran it through the big shot. Blue and Red alcohol inks were then applied to the foil.

By adding some chipboard cogs to the title tab and a Memories vellum word seemed to finish it nicely.

I fussy cut the photo and placed it onto a die cut as the photo mat. The photo is of my Dad with his great grand daughters Kirra & Khloe. They often go for a ride on the quad bike together.

Nature Park

Hi there this is my entry for the Kraft Plus Challenge for July. http://kraftpluschallenges.blogspot.com.au/2015/07/july-challenge-mustard-explosion.html

The only stipulations were to use Kraft as the background, and use yellow.

I started by using a complete sheet of kraft cardstock and using a lovley 12 x 12 stencil with cogs I painted the entire page. Then I cut out the circles to use on the layout.

Using a second of kraft cardstock, I have used Colorbox fluid chalk ink in the colour Lime pastel and using a large background stamp I have covered the entire sheet. It’s very hard to see in the photo but.

Using Colorbox fluid chalk inks in Blackbird and Coral I have randomly stamped the strips. I then added a little washi tape as a border and a little here and there to fill spaces. As the photos are of my son Wayne and Grand daughters Kirra and Khloe at the Ipswich Nature Park I decided to add some stamped animals to complete my layout.

Pizza for Dinner

"</p>" Hi there I played along over at Scrap It With Attitude this month, they had a beautiful Mood Board. I decided to do a couple of journal pages. The challenge was to use the mood board and show "doing something new".

These pics are perfect as this is the first time my grand daughters have made pizza.

With their Step- mum Sharon they set about making the pizzas and had lots of fun. I can't stress enough how important it is to take photos, always take photos.

This beautiful lady passed away 3 months ago. While we all have fond memories of Sharon, we are lucky to have some really beautiful photos of Sharon with my son Wayne, and my grand daughters Kirra and Khloe.

Now it is time for me to start scrapping them, and so I shall.

On one of the journal pages I have used Tim Holtz distress stains - tattered rose, and tumbled glass. These colours were pretty close to those on the mood board. I have used some co-ordinates paper and ran it through the big shot in one of my favourite embossing folders. This give a lovely effect for the photo mat.

With a little washi tape, some background stamping I then added a piece of printed vellum. My final addition to the journal pages was to add a stamped and cut out (not to well I might add) clock face and the lovely words Laugh, giggle, smile.

These girls always smiled with their step-mum.

Hi there this is my layout for the mood board challenge over at http://offtherailsscrapbooking.blogspot.com.au/2015/07/julys-challenge.html

While I prefer soft pastel colours I have challenged myself by using the darker coloured mood board. I distressed the edges of my page and taped it to the darker colour page for the outside border. Then I have added some lovely washi tapes, some printed vellum, and a chipboard clock face. To add some texture I have tried something a little different, I have added puff paint to a brayer and rolled it onto the two paper strips to the far left of the photo mat. After applying the puff paint I have simply heated with heat gun, and it gives a fantastic textured look to the page.

I have journalled on the tag and it slides in under the photo. To complete my layout I have added a lovely crocheted flower with a metal button for the centre. A couple of brads and a metal flower finish the layout off nicely.

The photo was taken on a very sad day, when we farewelled my daughter in law. The men in the photo are my sons, nephew, family friend and my youngest son (10). I think the photo shows the love and respect they had for such a wonderful woman. RIP Sharon James xxx

The best is yet to be

Hi this is what I chose to do for the Mood Board Challenge over at http://scrapafrica.blogspot.com.au

I decided to do some pocket pages for this mood board, which is a great way to include a few photos.

What inspired me most with the mood board was the old rusty car so I have used a crackle effect blue/yellow paper on brown. I have stamped randomly here and there a lovely background stamp in black Stampin Up ink. I have added some random bits of mesh tape, then put gesso over the top and then some lovely gold embossing.

By placing a small strip of the mesh tape on the paper, then lightly inking over the top it gives a lovely effect once the mesh strip is removed.

Add some chipboard, some metal buttons and I think it finishes the pocket pages nicely. I did something a little different on one of the pocket pages, you open it up to find a photo inside with some journalling.

Thanks for stopping by.

Once Upon A Time - Sassy Scrappers Mood Board Challenge

Hi this is my layout for the July Mood Board Challenge over at

http://sassyscrappers1.blogspot.com.au/

The colours on the Mood Board appealed to me and I thought the background papers used here are just perfect for these photos I chose for the layout. I have stamped randomly some wording which is part of a bird stamp from Kaszazz. Some scrollwork stamped here and there and I added some fussy cut stamped images such as the dressform, lady and clockface.

The addition of the lace and rhinestone strip complete the layout. Thanks for dropping by xx

Family Is

My layout for the challenge over at http://whitewith1.blogspot.com.au/ I have tried a woven affect on this layout, the lovely pink with dots paper is a Prima Marketing, and the other used in the weaving I have used Tim Holtz Distress stain, and 2 shades of Glimmer Mist on white card stock and made my own sheet to compliment the colour scheme. I also used this sheet to mat my photos. I coloured the chipboard bike using markers and the lamp post I coloured using smooch. I made the little flower to be placed in the centre of the leaves. I have journalled on the little pull out tag which I placed neatly underneath the centre photo. Thanks for dropping by xxx

A Day at Australia Zoo

This is my layout for the Challenge over at http://artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/ As the challenge was to use water in some form, I watered down some blue acrylic paint in a spray bottle and lightly misted my page. I have used mesh with modelling paste randomly along with some washi tape here and there. I think the addition of the rub on animals and the lovely frame and words are a nice little finishing touch. I have also stamped the scrolls, and the fern leaves at random.
